Tetris is your friend, or isn't it?

The next project I am about to start goes like this: I want to make a closet but not just a normal closet but one that doesn't stand on the ground but hangs on the wall, like a painting.  I do not make shelves in it as well, so the pieces stand just on top of each other.  With pieces I mean the 5 shapes that are used in the 'Tetris game'. I would like to call all the pieces together table ware. Although it are only 5 shapes and they are only good for little dishes, table ware is still the best specification .  The part where it involves my point of view as an artist is that this 'painting' can be reorganised by the owner, and I like the fact that because of all the pieces standing op top of each other you can't take what ever you want you have to find your way through.  The repetition of the shapes make the whole work together a very interesting piece of art to look at. I started by working out the shapes/components in paper to get an impression of

My trip to Lapland

O before I start showing my school work, I will show you a few pictures from when I have been to Lapland. I have made some friends here and with these people I have been on a weekend trip to Lapland, I wanted to do that as soon as possible because of the snow and maybe I could see a glimp of the Northern lights. Well I can tell you already, I haven't seen the Northern lights (sadly), but I will show you some amazing snow Pictures!  This was our cottage we stayed in during the weekend, included a sauna, tv, kitchen and a really nice  bed (because the one in my apartment is not that great) (left) Yeah I have done my first time snowboarding, on this picture I am actually standing but I have been on my butt the most of the time, but I had a great time! And right there is me in Santa village, that is where Santaclaus is hiding when he is not on his sledge to bring around presents.  Some picture taken while I sat in the train, the trip took

Exchange

Hi there, it has been a while since the last post but that is because I am on exchange to Finland! I arrived here on the 4th of January to start a 5 month study here in Finland - Helsinki. It has been around 3 weeks since I arrived, I have a nice apartment, I live 200m from the metro-station that brings me half way to school in 20 mins. There I take a tram that takes another 20 mins and from there only a 5 mins walk, very doable. I live 50m from the supermarket so I can easily go there.  Since I have been here it has been snowing for quite some time, the result is that there is around 50cm of snow at the untouched places, they are very occupied with the snow and especially with cleaning the places where people walk. They don't use salt like we use to in Holland but here they use some kind of gravel so you wont slip.  This was the side information because what I am here for in the first place is art. The school system is kinda different compared to what I am used to,
